Break the Story Volume 1 : Imagining a Future Beyond White Supremacy

Welcome to Break The Story, a Pop Culture Collaborative publication. This is the first of four monthly themed collections curated and produced by Senior Fellow Jamilah King. ‘Break the Story’ is not about breaking news, it refers to the TV storytelling process, where writers map out major plot points, vital characters, and the arcs of those characters’ journeys. At the Pop Culture Collaborative, we’re working with you to write a new story for our society and our collective future.

Each collection will focus on a critical issue at the intersection of pop culture and social justice. The interviews, opinion pieces and articles within offer bold ideas, big questions, and critical insights from storytellers, strategists, movement visionaries, and philanthropic leaders. To launch our inaugural collection, Break The Story: Imagining a Future Beyond White Supremacywe start with the powerful words and bold vision of our very own Executive Director, Bridgit Antoinette Evans.
