Angela Peoples (she/her) is an organizer and narrative strategist committed to economic justice, gender justice and Black liberation. Angela is CoFounder and CEO of The South, a lifestyle brand and consulting firm where unapologetic Black culture defines political power. She also serves as Senior Advisor on True History Narratives for the Pop Culture Collaborative. She specializes in creative narrative and culture shifting campaigns and has led movements like #BlackMamasMarch, Election Defenders and, Black Womxn For.
The subject of the “Don’t forget: White Women Voted for Trump” viral photo, Angela believes direct action is a platform for art and creative expression to engage uncomfortable truths and challenge systematic oppression.
As a resident of Broward County, she worked to transform politics on the state, local and national level with an emphasis of recruiting progressive leadership into the Democratic party ranks. She has worked with a number of Democratic campaigns including as a national surrogate for the Warren for President campaign, Courtney Snowden for At -Large City Council and Gregory Peoples for 54th District State Delegate. A commentator, Angela has been featured in several news outlets and blogs including, TheHill, PlayBoy Magazine, The Washington Post and the New York Times.
