The Seekers Mindset: Embracing Difference Is the Answer

Starfish Accelerator incubated “God Bless the Promise Land” (GBPL), an immersive experience that explores the ideas of black woman martyrdom, “Rest as Resistance” (as coined and researched by The Nap Ministry) and vulnerability. GBPL is part of a pre-apocalyptic horror television series in the making and mixed media narrative set in an America of the future – ravaged by the impending impact of climate change on frontline communities. Creator Vanessa Benton, a Netflix staff writer, invites the audience into an immersive and interactive narrative using Twitter, Instagram, Tik Tok, Tumblr, podcasts, live feeds, e-mail blasts and even file drops from her character Harlow.
