Starfish is a noncompetitive ecosystem designed to benefit all who participate in it, be they creators, advisors, investors, or buyers. The content, strategies, and insights that inform the design of the Starfish accelerator were drawn from a vast number of sources: interviews, surveys, academic research, market reports, lived experience as creators and entrepreneurs of color, and most significantly, the personal experiences of dozens of mid-career and seasoned storytellers and executives of color. Funding from the Pop Culture Collaborative will support the development and activation of the Starfish Accelerator’s Creative Village, which will support four artists fellows as they develop their unique piece of pop culture Intellectual Property and associated Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
