Meet our grantee:

Open TV

OTV | Open Television is a platform for intersectional digital television that develops and supports the launch of indie series by Chicago-based Black, brown, differently abled, and queer artists. In the last few years, OTV has released 41 pilots, shorts, and series that have received over a million plays on Vimeo alone. OTV believes television invites communities to follow stories over time, watch characters grow, and experience culture across episodes, time, and contexts. These attributes give this medium enormous power to drive cultural change by allowing writers to explore complexities and engage people over a character’s extended journey. As a grantee member of the Pop Culture Collaborative’s “Artists Advancing Cultural Change” program, OTV will choose and manage a cohort of artists to create stories that inspire mass audiences to both envision and yearn for a just, and pluralist society.
