Meet our grantee:
Cast Iron Company
Type of grant:
Artists Advancing Culture ChangeThe Cast Iron Company—a cohort of entertainment artists led by Oscar-winning writer Tarell Alvin McCraney (Moonlight), Sterling K. Brown (This is Us), André Holland (Selma), Jon Michael Hill (Elementary), and Glenn Davis (Billions) will engage in a collaborative and experimental story development process.
The Cast Iron Company will be housed at the Geffen Playhouse, which enriches the cultural life of Los Angeles through plays and educational programs that inform, entertain and inspire.
“Cast Iron is so grateful for the support of Pop Culture Collective on this venture at Geffen Playhouse. The six of us are constantly engaged in other projects all over the world, and the ability to carve out a time and place to come together, brainstorm and develop new theater is crucial to our process. Pop Culture Collective’s willingness to contribute to our process leaves us free to dream big but more importantly to dream together.” -Glenn Davis
