Made by a team of women filmmakers of color, the docuseries And She Could Be Next premiered in June 2020 on POV, an anchor part of PBS’s “Trailblazers” initiative celebrating 100 years of women’s suffrage. Funding from the Pop Culture Collaborative will support the development of a pop culture level impact strategy for the docuseries focused on advancing narratives about women of color leadership in the lead up to the 2020 election. This pop culture–focused social impact campaign will celebrate the leadership of women of color and cultivate civic excitement among the New American Majority—a game-changing voting bloc that makes up more than half of the American electorate.
